Hi the display in my 2011 5 series 523i is not functioning – only when the car starts the BMW logo appears and then goes off – software was updated…made no difference – i was advised the processor unit is faulty ! various people tried to plug in and resolve…unsuccessfully.

hi my idrive screen is constantly black. it flashes on when i turn on ignition then goes off then flashes on again then goes off and stays off. i had the nbt head unit sent away for repair and they told me they bench tested it and it was working fine, they told me it could be a faulty screen, can you tell me if this is repairable and cost. the screen part no is BM 9289008 02 3 ITS 10.25INCH. thanks

BMW X3 2012, display is randomly turning red for 30 seconds or so and then rebooting, when it returns the sat nav doesn’t know where it is. Is this a fault you have seen before?

my bmw e91 2006 idrive always works in the morning especially when its cold but if i stop and park after perhaps 1 hour (75 miles) it wont start again…no radio,sat nave and selector wheel just spins!

I have 2017 M240i and My satnav does not operate, put into dealer to have performance exhaust fitted on getting car back satnav doesn’t work, returned car to dealer to check out. They have back to saying you have coding done to car not approved by BMW so they have disabled your satnav. BMW say You require a new headunit. You Can’t claim under warranty has you done coding.
Do you think it can be repaired?

My car is not listed in your ad, it is an F30 330e BMW 2016, 20,000 miles. The screen shows BMW Connected logo and continually re-boots. Short bursts from the sound system, no navigation link for SatNav no Bluetooth phone etc. etc.

BMW 318i 2016 IDrive keeps rebooting every 1-2 minutes. When it reboots the radio and sat nav all work but then appears to loose power and drops out.

I’m having problems with my Idrive. I have a Bmw116i 2004 … The system worked perfectly, but it started to appear flaws on the screen, and more and more constant, similar to scratches on the screen .. And suddenly the screen stopped working. It opens and closes, but does not turn on. The dvd and audio tb do not respond .. Re sensor system still works, the air conditioner tb, but it has lost strength … What should I do? Even after turning off the car, it makes noises of the screen opening and closing, and cd running on the player. And the start and stop button does not turn off the light.
Having problems with the idrive every now and then deciding to not start properly and constantly rebooting, this tends to happen if you take the key out for a short time (like popping to the shops) then returning and starting the cr up, any advice please?

I have a 05 reg BMW 535D saloon which I believe takes the E60 and E61 device. What occurs is that simultaneously the radio will cut out i.e. no sound, and the iDrive control knob freewheels. If it starts to show resistance again i.e. no longer freewheels, then the radio sound will return. Same for the CD player. Obviously when the control knob freewheels one cannot set anything. However the Sat Nav, if it has already been set continues to work both in terms of directions, knowing where it is and on screen display. I suspect a power connection issue which, of course, could be anywhere in the wiring to the unit. What is your professional view? The tendency for the fault to occur increases in warmer weather and reduces in very cold weather and failing when it has been working often seems to occur after going over a bump or similar.

I have a BMW 5 series tourer. Year 05. The I drive some times displays ‘can not read media’ , when I try to play a CD. It has recently come on for a few seconds when I started the car up , the radio came on intermittently . Then the whole thing died . Blank screen no radio or CD player . Car still drives perfect . On Board computer displays car on ramps . This is not on the I drive display , its on the panel directly in front of the steering wheel.

My i drive system is faulty. The comms have stopped working, the radio sometimes has no sound, the sat nav sometimes freezes and wont let me change details. Can this be repaired and at what cost?

I have BMW 318D M sport(2008). Recently the idrive function is not working properly. Radio from FM to AM. navigation and communication function don’t work. However it starts working when I bang the idrive dash concel few times. what could be wrong – loose connections ? please advice how to rectifi the problem.

I have a bMW 320i (2008) the nav works sometimes but is stuck on the one destination. I cant change the radio from FM to AM. I have been able to change the clock settings. The control button Scrolls from top to bottom of the screen but it wont react when its pished down. but I have been told it might be due to Dust. Would that be correct? I have a 2006 e64 630 conv. When ever i play a cd or the radio the sound Stays on for a few seconds to a min then the sound turns off. and comes back on after a min. Also when the sound Is off I’m unable to use the idrive sytem.
Any ideas? Or a quote would b great.

BMW CCC sometimes shuts down suddenly and comes back on but sometimes loops again by switching off and switching on. Doesn’t happen all the time just sometimes at first startup of the day all functions fine when on but when errors were read there were a large amount relating to miscommunication with CCC etc.
What are your thoughts of the issue and prices on a repair on the CCC unit for the BMW X5 E70.

I have a bmw e90 and the Problem i have is that when the car Starts the idrive comes Up normal and everything works but after a while of driving the bmw logo comes on and everything I.E. cd, radio, main menu, volume, sat nav etc stops Working and if the car is switched off for a period of time Then all goes back to normal. Please advice and let me Know how much it will Cost to repair this issue. Thanks

I have a 2005 525d. The idrive screen displays BMW when you turn on the ignit, but then flickers and then goes blank. It then will repeat but will not load.

Hi i have e90 330d the idrives doesnt work most of the time the screen comes on with the bmw logo and then goes blank, at some point it does work. Most of the time the screen is blank. I did change the battery a while ago it isnt the original One it was from a different car could that be the problem?

I have a 2006 bmw 730d with sat nav. The sat nav wont boot up it gets stuck on ” initialising …… please wait”. The system Is in the boot and Links with audio which works but goes silent every couple of minutes for a few seconds (radio /cds/and aux) . I’ve had it from new so know its history. I had it checked by a local firm who say the lazer is fine!

Hello, i’ve got a BMW X5 with a 8.8inch widescreen Idrive unit.
The screens backlight Appears to have gone thus only able to see the screen with a torch light glaring against it.
As everything with the idrive is working other than the screeen, are you able to simply replave the screen?
If yes, can you please Let me know:
1) do you have any screens in stock?
2) when could you install it?
3) do you do installs over weekends?
4) finally, how much Will itvall cost?

BMW 1 series 120d 64 plate with nav. Screen cover is cracked. All works ok but can the screen cover be replaced or is it the complete screen. Not sure what E number the system is. Car purchased march 15 new.

I have a fault with my e60 idrive screen, radio still works but screened blank. All you can see is lines when you shine a torch on the screen and these lines change when operating the system I.e changing from menu to climate. Any way you can help thanks.

Hi, Similar fault to above. i.e. nav asks for disc but wont read it. Drive is prof and it will still play a cd. I heard a random clatter from the mech some time ago as if looking for some thing. But thought this was normal. 08 drive and disc. Tried a latter disc to no avail. regards G w

I have a 57 plate 7 series ld with build in sat nav and tv also in the back of the car. The sat nav and tv very rarely works when the car is turned on, it is scrambled as if an old tv with no aerial. Sometimes it works fine and the screen always works fine other than for the use of tv or sat nav, have you seen this problem before? The screen has been re programmed with no success.

I have a BMW 520d 2008, e60 with only one CD slot. It’s Sat Nav is stuck in some location. I have tried to put in new address several times but it’s still stuck in that location. May be the GPS connection is not working as its reading maps disc etc fine I can put in post codes without a problem but when I click start navigation the screen show that location and if I click vehicle location it still shows that location. Any guesses what could have gone wrong?

I have a fault with my bmw sat nav… It says intermittently to insert CD/DVD which is already inserted. How much to fix this problem. Fault started when battery was replaced but this was more than 2 months ago now.
